Albinism Awareness Day 2019: Theme is 'Still Standing Strong'

This year, the Albinism Awareness Day, June 13, is to be observed with the theme 'Still Standing Strong' to recognize, celebrate and stand in solidarity with persons with albinism around the world, and to support their cause – from their accomplishments and positive practices to the promotion and protection of their human rights, informs the UN website mentioning about an event in its headquarters in New York.

UNESCO, as the United Nations' specialized agency for education, has been entrusted by the United Nations to lead and coordinate the Education 2030 Agenda consisting of 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Consequently, UNESCO holds, "Education, essential to achieve all of these goals, has its own dedicated Goal 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The 'Education 2030 Framework for Action' provides guidance for the implementation of this ambitious goal and commitments."
